Spears Slam Dr. Phil For Violating Their Trust

The family of troubled pop star Britney Spears has accused the host of the psychology themed television show “Dr. Phil” of breaching their trust after the celebrity doctor made his to-be-personal visit to the singer in hospital open to public. While Britney’s family is obviously furious at Phillip Calvin McGraw for risking their relation with their daughter, Dr. Phil has refused to apologize from Spears saying he just intended to help.

The accusations and clarifications come following McGraw’s statement to “Entertainment Tonight” in which he emphasized on the need of medical and psychological intervention for Britney.

Britney’s family through their spokesman later condemned McGraw for his statement and for passing an impression that they were to tape a program with him on singer’s mental situation.

While the self-help therapist claims he cancelled the Monday’s planned sitdown with Jamie and Lynne Spears citing Britney’s intense situation, the family says it never had planned for such a program and called McGraw’s motives ‘self-serving.’

Britney was hospitalized late Thursday night and recommended a minimum of 72-hour lockdown for mental evaluation after she locked herself up in a room with her one-year-old son, Jayden.

Britney Spears Undergoes Mental Evaluation

From riches to rags. Britney Spears, once one of the most promising pop singers in America, was hospitalized late Thursday night and recommended a minimum of 72-hour lockdown for mental evaluation after she locked herself up in a room with her one-year-old son, Jayden.

According to reports, the troubled star, who was granted monitored visitation rights with her two sons in October last year, was scheduled to give the boys over to her ex-husband and children’s father Kevin Federline at 7 p.m. Thursday. However, she locked herself up in a room with Jayden at her Studio City home and refused to hand him over to Federline.

The police was informed of the situation by the monitor and after a four hour stand-off the cops got through the door and strapped Spears down to a gurney. Amidst a huge crowd of media, Spears was stretchered out of her home and shuttled to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in an ambulance.

Based on Associated Press reports, attorneys for Spears and Federline were in court Friday for a closed-door meeting.

OK! Magazine Cashed In On Spears

It has been quite a while when an article in OK! Magazine announced Britney Spears’ 16-year old sis’ Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy, the family is in news again, this time for the financial dealing behind the story. Competitors claim that Zoey 101 star’s mother, Lynne Spears, had sold the pregnancy story to OK! for $1 million.

The story which appeared on the cover page of the magazine last month purportedly inflated the sales of the magazine to 2 million copies, overriding the sales of magazine’s issue which documented Britney's meltdown at an OK! photo shoot last summer.

While the tabloid is denying that it paid the Spears family for the exclusive rights of the story, the critics are questioning the seemingly specious choice the Spears family made in selecting it for the story, noting that the gossip weekly ran unflattering photos of Britney after a disastrous photo shoot last July.

Whatever the inside story is, one thing is for sure the teen actress made a bold move in breaking her pregnancy to the world. Good Luck to her!

Suri Cruise May Lend Her Voice To Knut The Polar Bear

Once again the gossip magazines and celebrity tabloids are circulating the news of Suri Cruise following her parent’s foot steps and entering the entertainment world. Rumor has it that the tot could lend her voice to Germany's celebrity polar bear cub Knut for a Hollywood animation movie.

According to German newspaper B.Z., producer Ash R. Shah and his firm, The Animation Picture Company, the makers of 2007 film “Garfield Gets Real,” has offered the Zoo Berlin $5 million for the rights to Knut's story.

In an interview with the paper, Shah revealed that the film will centre on the heartwarming relationship between Knut and his caretaker, Thomas Doerflein, and that TomKat’s beloved daughter could speak the English voice of Knut.

Last year, the news of baby Cruise having been signed up for a lucrative contract from Baby Gap was vehemently denied by the family’s representative.

While Suri’s involvement with the project is still fuzzy, Knut is all set for stardom when he makes his first screen appearance in March. He will appear in the German film Knut and Friends, a story about bears growing up, in which his co-stars include a polar bear family from the Arctic and two brown bears from Belarus.

Paris Hilton Set To Lose Her Heiress Tag

Paris Hilton probably had not expected this Christmas present. The 26-year-old celebutante’s multi-million dollar fortune just reduced to a six figure asset this Wednesday after his apparently fed-up grandfather, Barron Hilton, announced to give away 97 percent of his fortune, nearly $2.3 billion, to charity.Instead of being divided amongst Barron Hilton’s eight children and numerous grandchildren (including Paris), the massive chunk of Hilton inheritance will now go to the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, a charitable organization founded by Paris’ great grandfather Conrad Hilton.

That reduces Paris fair share of paternal inheritance to approximately $5 million, according to the calculations by New York’s Daily News. To her dismay the amount is said to be taxable.

For a quick review on her life, Paris gained notoriety for her hard partying as a teen. She attracted worldwide attention when a sex tape, “One Night In Paris,” she made with a boyfriend was released on the Internet. This year she spent 23 days in jail for driving offences.

Russell Crowe Takes Stance Against Slot Machines

Academy Award-winning actor and staunch Rabbitohs supporter, Russell Crowe, has succeeded in his campaign to remove more than a hundred slot machines from the premises of his of South Sydney Rugby league club. The “Gladiator” star and his business partner Peter Holmes a Court had been pushing the club’s members to remove the gambling machines, which they said were a “distraction” from the club’s real purpose.

Despite the fact that the machines were contributing to a major percentage of the club’s annual revenue, the club’s board members on Thursday yielded to Crowe’s purpose and agreed to remove 160 “pokies” from the club.

Crowe and Holmes a Court had been pressing for the machines’ removal because of the negative social impact they were having.

In a letter to club members in September, the duo said, “We are not moralizing here, we just believe that low-income areas like Redfern need [fewer] poker machines rather than more. We believe a club can be successful if it caters for our members and the broad community; is a place where families can gather for conversation and good food; and the distracting din of pokies doesn’t stop the conversation or drown out live music.”

It is not for the first time that Crowe has taken an unconventional step for the betterment of the club. Earlier this year, he axed cheerleaders from the rugby league club and replaced the girls with a drumming band.

The club plans to cover A$1m in deficit by attracting new members.

Eva Longoria’s Husband Files Defamation Lawsuit Against Website

Tony Parker, the French basketball star and newly married husband of “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria, has sued a celebrity gossip Web site for publishing “false” stories of his affair with a French model. The lawsuit filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court seeks at least $40 million in damages.

The lawsuit comes just few days after X17online.com posted an interview with French model Alexandra Paressant in which she allegedly revealed her two-month affair with Parker. The story said Paressant had told X17 that she became acquainted with Parker through French soccer star Thierry Henry, who introduced her to the basketball star at his wedding last summer.

However, Parker has rejected those claims and blamed the site for not having done enough to check the “credibility of its supposed source,” the lawsuit said.

"X17 had to know that the story was false, or, at the very least, it had to have entertained serious doubts about the credibility of the supposed source,” the case said.

Parker, 25, married 32-year-old Longoria in Paris in July.
